A Little More About Me

Are you a worried parent, feeling unsure how to support your child or young person through their challenges?

With over 40 years of experience working with children and young people in a variety of settings, including the NHS and private practice, I bring a depth of understanding to my work. I also have lived and professional experience of neurodivergence, allowing me to provide flexible, compassionate support that truly meets your child’s needs.

My background in early years and primary education, combined with my counselling experience, has shown me the power of play and creative arts in therapy. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where children feel safe, heard, and free from judgement.

Ways I Can Help

Emotional Support and Understanding

I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where children and young people can explore their thoughts and feelings. Through conversation, play, and creative activities, I help them feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate challenges and build emotional resilience.

Confidence and Self Esteem Building

By focusing on each child’s strengths and encouraging self-expression, I help young people develop confidence and a positive sense of self. Together, we work on setting achievable goals and celebrating progress, fostering independence and self  belief.

Coping Strategies and Resilience

Individual counselling is a one-on-one therapeutic process where a client collaborates with a trained therapist in a confidential and empathetic setting. During these sessions, clients are encouraged to freely express their thoughts and emotions.

Creative and Play Based Activities

Recognising that talking about feelings can sometimes be overwhelming, I use play, art, and other creative activities to engage children in therapy. These methods help them express themselves in a way that feels safe, relaxed, and tailored to their individual needs.
